Muslim in America; The Most Humanistic, Tolerant, and Morally Great?

I read an ABC news article the other day written by Khaled Abou El Fadl, it started off like this; “There ought to be no question that Islam inspired one of the most humanistic, tolerant and intellectually rich civilizations, but it would be a serious error to rely on any historical inevitabilities - just because Muslims achieved moral greatness once does not necessarily mean that they will do so again.” He calls Islam “one of the most humanistic” civilizations but sense most people may not know what humanistic means, here is the definition.

Humanistic- a system of thought that is based on the values, characteristics, and behavior that are believed to be best in human beings, rather than on any supernatural authority.

So is he saying the Muslim values are the best in human beings? So stoning a girl who was raped for reporting it, beating/maiming a wife is ok, killing innocents who are not Muslims, and Honor Killing those in the family who try and join the US society is having good values; I disagree. The second part of humanistic says, “rather than on any supernatural authority”. Wouldn’t Allah in the Muslim beliefs be the Muslim god and hence be a supernatural authority?

Tolerant- accepting the differing views of other people, e.g. in religious or political matters, and treating the people who hold these different views fairly.

So killing any person of another religious belief, stoning Christians in Dearborn Michigan, saying Jewish people are beneath dogs, and killing all homosexual people is being tolerant. I don’t know about how he was brought up but this is definitely not being tolerant. Let’s look further.

Moral- relating to issues of right and wrong and to how individual people should behave.

Greatness- very large and impressive.

In a civilized society, wouldn’t it be wrong to stoning a girl who was raped for reporting it, beating and maiming your wife, killing innocents who are not Muslims, Honor Killing those in the family with who you disagree, or even demanding someone’s death because they drew a cartoon you didn’t like? So this is the correct morale value for Muslim morality according to their teachings? Is this what we want in America? What is the only group of people who do not want to integrate into the US but want to dominate the US? Even though many Muslim may not, the majority do and it is turning our country upside down.

A U.S. attorney in Tennessee is reportedly vowing to use federal civil rights statutes to clamp down on offensive and inflammatory speech about Islam. Killian pointed to a recent controversy where a local Tennesseepolitician posted a photo of a man aiming a shotgun at the camera with the caption "How to wink at a Muslim."

This was in bad taste (it was a politician, what do you expect) but do you think (unless threatened) he would do it, no it was in jest but you can’t say the same for the Daniel Pearl, Doug Williams, and a slew of others, they were all murdered. 

He goes on to say, "If a Muslim had posted ‘How to Wink at a Christian,’ could you imagine what would have happened?" Yes, nothing, it is called freedom of speech, but what is our government doing?

"In its latest effort to protect followers of Islam in the U.S. the Obama Justice Department warns against using social media to spread information considered inflammatory against Muslims, threatening that it could constitute a violation of civil rights," the group wrote in a blog post. So if we don’t agree with the Muslim way of life we get our freedom of speech taken away? This is not America. They go on to say;

“In recent years, the federal government has faced difficult questions about how to respond to material posted about Islam and the Prophet Muhammad — especially when the content causes riots or attacks abroad.”

So who is the most tolerant religion again? Should we give up our freedom of speech? No. It offends me every day I see a Muslim person burn my US Flag but I will not “causes riots or attacks abroad”, this is a form of bullying and if our government falls for it, we will always be bullied until we are no more. My dad always said you had to stand up to the bully. I believe that and I believe we need to respect each other and agree to disagree. I have yet to see a Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, or Jew fly an airplane with into a building killing thousands, I have yet to see them shoot a 15 year old girl in the head for wanting to learn, and I have yet to see them decapitate people for refusing to convert to their beliefs but I have seen all these frequently from the Muslim religion.

An article in “The Tullahoma News” says “American Muslims are not the terrorists some have made them out to be”, well lets take a look at those"historical inevitabilities" and what have they done over the last 41 years? Let’s look at the following.

So this is a peaceful religion has only 64 attacks in the US with 3085 people murdered and 1592 maimed that we know about. There are no Muslims who are terrorist in America? I think our history shows a different view. Do I think Muslims can integrate into our society? Yes, I have many friends who are Muslim and have done well socially in our society, unfortunately they are the minority. In 41 years Muslim terrorist have murdered on average 75 people a year in the US. During the same time period KKK has murdered 2.5 people a year and I hate the clan; so which one is more dangerous?

Our country is the greatest because of our diverse cultures who for the most part live in harmony. If there are Muslim leaders and people who do want to embrace peacefully our diverse culture, we would love to have you. If there are Muslim leaders and people who do not want to embrace our diverse culture and preach hatred and attack our fellow citizens (like in Dearborn Michigan) you need to be deported some where else. If you will not be tolerant of ALL other religions, non-religion, and even choices by other Muslims within your own Muslim community without them fearing beatings, stoning, or honor killings, then you must leave and it is the responsibility of our Federal Government to make sure this happens. I know the current one will not do what is right and protect us, they are bowing to the bully, but pray the next one does its duty.
