Tyranny and Our Government

Tyranny, it is what our founding father fought and died to deliver us from and has been the direction of our elected officials and government for the past 20+ years but to recognize what tyranny is you must understand the definition.

Tyranny: Arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic (Synonym: oppressive, tyrannical, dictatorship) abuse of authority; the government or rule of a tyrant or absolute ruler. A state ruled by a tyrant or absolute rule; oppressive or unjustly severe government on the part of any ruler; undue severity or harshness.

Does this sound familiar; it should because for the past two to four decades it has been the direction of our government. Our police and military are being trained to disarm the American citizens, but if our lawmakers believe in the US Constitution, why would the do that; they wouldn’t! Remember the words of a politician are like the actions of a wolf, used to lure the lamb to the slaughter. This reminds me of a fable I once read:

The Wolf and the Lamb

A Wolf, meeting with a Lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea to justify to the Lamb the Wolf’s right to eat him. He thus addressed him: “Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me.” “Indeed,” bleated the Lamb in a mournful tone of voice, “I was not then born.” Then said the Wolf, “You feed in my pasture.” “No, good sir,” replied the Lamb, “I have not yet tasted grass.” Again said the Wolf, “You drink of my well.” “No,” exclaimed the Lamb, “I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother’s milk is both food and drink to me.” Upon which the Wolf seized him and ate him up, saying, “Well! I won’t remain supperless, even though you refute every one of my imputations.”  The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.

It reminds me of our politicians because they try and justify their immoral and many times illegal actions and when we the people call their bluff, we are devoured like the innocent lamb. What happens when we are not devoured? We are used like and not given what had been promised as in “The Wolf and the Crane”.

The Wolf and the Crane

A WOLF who had a bone stuck in his throat hired a Crane, for a large sum, to put her head into his mouth and draw out the bone. When the Crane had extracted the bone and demanded the promised payment, the Wolf, grinning and grinding his teeth, exclaimed: “Why, you have surely already had a sufficient recompense, in having been permitted to draw out your head in safety from the mouth and jaws of a wolf.” In serving the wicked, expect no reward, and be thankful if you escape injury for your pains.

Our politicians have exchanged our liberty for their tyranny. I have attached some very interesting videos you might want to watch that spells out our problems and the politicians and government becoming more and more tyrannical and dictator like. I wonder what the founding fathers thought about this. Here is some of their quotes:

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." George Washington

“Arms in the hands of individual citizens may be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the over-throw of tyranny, or in private self-defense” John Adams

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible." George Washington

“It's not tyranny we desire; it's a just, limited, federal government.” Alexander Hamilton

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington

“Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” George Washington

“If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy” James Madison

“Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.” Thomas Jefferson

“Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants” William Penn

“Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing [a people] to slavery.” Thomas Jefferson

"The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation – enlightened as it is – if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men." Samuel Adams

“How strangely will the Tools of a Tyrant pervert the plain Meaning of Words!” Samuel Adams”

“Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government” James Madison

“Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.” Benjamin Franklin
